Capella Apartments

The Polaris development comprises of a diverse mix of housing typologies, from varying sizes of apartments through to individual townhouses, through to whole apartment complexes. Found at the heart of this development, Capella is a collection of 72 apartments spread across 3 separate buildings.
In order to rationalise this collection of buildings within the wider context of the site, each of them were given their own identity through use of colour. Inspired by the different seasons, this identity system, through use of complimentary colours, gives each of Capella’s building forms a confidently distinct presence within itself, and within the wider precinct
As a high-density development, we looked for ways to retain the core elements of community in the planning of the external space. Pathways and outdoor communal space elevate the journey through the separated buildings.
We also sought to standardise elements internally where possible, whilst enabling each buildings’ exterior colour to find a place inside the home too – this further gives identity and warmth to the residents of the building.
