Set within the long-time home of an elderly couple, the renovation transforms the residence into a calm, elegant, and deeply personal environment that reflects both their way of life and their appreciation for contemporary Chinese painting.
Rather than pursuing a dramatic reinvention, the design takes a more nuanced approach—one that respects the rhythms of daily life, memory, and familiarity, while introducing renewed spatial clarity and material richness suited to this next chapter of living.
The result is a home that feels gentle yet refined, where everyday routines are supported by spaces that are thoughtfully composed, emotionally resonant, and quietly expressive.
At the heart of the design is Patagonia stone, chosen as the project’s defining material language. More than a visually striking material, it carries a painterly quality that deeply resonated with the homeowners. The selection of each stone slab was specially curated by them, reflecting a personal and intuitive connection to its veining, tonal depth, and layered composition.
