800 Petals
2018 | Spottiswoode, Singapore | Multi-Residential, Proposals
Patterned by its own architecture, and so named for it.
800 Petals is a single-block, 250-unit condominium in the Spottiswoode neighbourhood of Singapore.Petal-shaped fringes distinguish the 35-storey high elevation, giving the development and its resident community a recognisable identity. These extensions are not only expressive—in being balconies or weather-shading overhangs, they functionally augment the pleasures of living in the tropics.
Ten unit types were created for the development, in a range from one to four bedrooms. The balcony and shelter components alternate to bring an outward homogeneity to this complex of units. The one-unit thick tower is oriented to face the city and coastal skylines, with every apartment given unblocked views through full-height windows.
