Reconciliation Action Plan
From our Melbourne studio on Wurundjeri Country we listen, learn and deliver projects that shape our community and environments for the better.
We acknowledge and firmly support the First Nations peoples, appreciating the diverse tapestry of their cultures and traditions and are committed to learning from their wisdom. We are very proud to launch K2LD’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Working with Reconciliation Australia, First Nations peoples, our staff and other partners on this Reflect RAP has been rewarding and enabled us to set out a clear plan of action and the foundation for future RAPs as we continually improve and learn more. We aim to cultivate partnerships that strive to embed indigenous knowledges and customs within the built environment. Creating meaningful outcomes that resonate over time. That contributes to the well-being of country and honors the world’s oldest living culture.

Sustainability Approach

K2LD acknowledges the built environment is a major contributor to carbon emissions. We have a duty as individuals AND the collective to act.
We are proud to be ISO 14001 certified, demonstrating our commitment to environmental sustainability but understand we need to do more.
As part of commitment to advocate for change in response to the climate and biodiversity emergency we are in the process of implementing a Sustainability Action Plan. This will provide a blueprint to fulfilling our Australian Architects Declare pledge and will include Sustainable Development Goals – the UN blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.

Fundraising & Volunteering
“As the hospital continues to evolve and innovate, it is corporate partnerships like these that truly make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation – The Impact of Giving
Hosting fundraising events is one of the ways we contribute to the community. Over the past decade we have been consistently donating to the music therapy course for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation (RCHF). Recently, we organised a successful fundraising event for RCHF, raising just under $18,000 AUD. The funds will support RCHF’s Therapeutic Garden Program, providing a healing environment for children and families.
We had the privilege of hosting just under 70 attendees, including our esteemed business partners, cherished friends of K2LD, and dedicated individuals from both K2LD and the RCHF. The event took place at our K2LD Melbourne office, located at 49 Exhibition Street, where the RCH originated as “The Melbourne Free Hospital for Sick Children”.
Philanthropic & pro bono

We actively engage in pro bono work with a vision to activity support disadvantaged cohorts within our society. Over the last decade we have put a special emphasis in supporting children and women’s equality and safety. Our partnerships reflect our dedication to contributing to social causes that matter.

“This placement has enabled me to establish important career goals that will assist me in progressing through VCE and establishing a future career pathway. It really helped me understand what a day for an architect or interior designer can look like. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to do my work experience.”
