Keluarga House
2025 | Singapore | Residential
Engineered timber is used extensively across the façade to soften the building’s massing and introduce warmth, complementing the textured concrete formliner. This restrained material palette reinforces the contrast between solidity and openness, while responding to the tropical context through shading, ventilation, and durability.
While maintaining a calm and controlled presence toward the street, the house opens fully to the rear, where the swimming pool and landscaped garden form the primary setting for daily family life and larger celebrations.
Aluminium screens are designed to wrapped around the main staircase allowing natural daylight while maintaining visual privacy from the street and adjacent properties. Its perforated and layered quality softens the mass of the vertical element, creating a subtle play of light and shadow that animates the ribbed profile of the vertical formliner as it connects the interior and exterior spaces.
